Born in 1956 in Tehran, he started his career in Shahid Beheshti University in 1993 after obtaining his PhD, teaching specialized courses in Persian literature. His research area within which he has published vigorously includes religious studies, literary research (classical poetry and prose), and the history of literature. His other notable publications are the thematic dictionary of the Holy Quran (three volumes), a description of the history of Jahangosha Joveini (three volumes), Other Skies (research guide in Molavi’s Masnavi), history of Iranian literature, literary renaissance, our Iran, etc.

So far, he has published more than 20 books and over eighty articles in various academic journals. He is also the director of the Scientific Center for the History of Persian Literature, and is currently the dean of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences.
