The Pomegranate Girls
A King and Queen are childless and are advised by a sage to take an apple following which they will have a baby. The kingdom is jubilant but they are warned that they must hold the child continuously for the six months. Alas the nanny leaves the baby on the floor for a moment so that she can visit the powder room. When she returns, the baby is nowhere to be found. It transpires that the baby has been picked up by a flock of maidens who take him to another kingdom where he appears as a blue bird. This tender love story focuses on how the blue bird manages to release itself from the clutches of the forty maidens who also take the form of birds in this other kingdom.
